Royals discharge Hyderabad

Port Elizabeth: Rajasthan Royals pulled off an unlikely win over Hyderabad Deccan Chargers after they lost three of their top batsmen for three runs.

Abhishek Raut (36*) who kept his nerves in the final overs to guide his side to thrilling three wicket win against Hyderabad Deccan Chargers.

Chasing a modest total of 141-5, Royal Challengers were off to a horrendous start as they slipped to 3-3 in the first two overs.

Lee Carseldine and Ravindra Jadeja's (12) added 51 runs in 7.1 overs for the fourth wicket to set the tone for the Rajasthan's run chase.

Carseldine who scored 39 0ff 40 balls who was unlucky to be adjudged lbw.

Captain Shane Warne contributed 21, blasting two sixes in one expensive over from Venugopal Rao in between being dropped by the bowler.

Once again it was Yusuf Pathan (24) who produced the key innings for Rajathan Royals. His brief cameo included two fours and the same number of sixes before he perished trying to hit RP Singh over the fence.

Earlier opting to bat, Chargers captain Adam Gilchrist (39) started the Chargers' innings on a blistering note, picking up 27 runs of the first three overs and then Rohit Sharma (38) and T Suman (41) stitched a crucial 59-run stand for the fourth wicket to guide Deccan Chargers to 141 for five.

Pathan was the pick of the Royals bowlers, he dismissed Gibbs and gave away only 19 overs in his four over spell.
