Abu Dhabi: Kamran Akmal's blistering century helped Pakistan by seven wickets in fifth and final match at Sheikh Zayed Stadium here on Sunday.
Akmal hit an unbeaten 116 and added a 198 partnership with Misbah-ul-Haq (76 not out) to help his team chase a challenging 251-run target with three overs to spare .
Shane Watson's cenury (116) was the corner for Australia's 250-4 in 50 overs.
Australia won the five match series 3-2 fter winning the second match by six wickets, the third by 27 runs and fourth by eight wickets. Pakistan won the first match by four wickets.
Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam said it would have been terrible for his side to have lost 4-1.
''Today they played for pride and I'm really proud of them. They had to win today,'' he said.
The teams will meet again in a one-off Twenty20 game in Dubai on Thursday
