Durban: Shah Rukh Khan has no reason to comeback to South Africa as his side is virtually out of the IPL contest.
A blistering half century from stand-in-captain Gautam Gambhir lead Delhi to a comfortable nine-wicket victory against Kolkata Knight Riders at Durban on Tuesday.
Gambhir played a calm and composed innings of 71 to take his team to the target of 155 with one over to spare, although he did enjoy some luck after being dropped by KKR captain McCullum on 21. Gambhir hit seven fours in his 56 ball innings.
David Warner (36) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (42 not out) were the other notable contributors for the Delhi Daredevils.
The victory helped Delhi Daredevils to climb up to the top of the Indian Premier League table with ten points, where as Knight Riders are languishing at the bottom of eight-team table at three points.
Earlier, electing to bat Kolkata posted 154 for three, their highest score so far in the tournament, thanks mainly to Morne van Wyk's 48-ball 74. Kolkata captain McCullum smashed 35 from 29 deliveries, inclusive of a boundary and three sixes.
Best bowling performance for Delhi came from Sangwan, who took two for 29 in four overs, while Nehra took one for 23.
Gautam Gambhir was adjudged man of the match.
