Dubai: Injury will prevent Australian all-rounder Shane Watson heading to South Africa for stints in the Indian Premier League.

"Watson suffered a groin injury so he will be returning home for rest before the World Twenty20 and is not going to South Africa for the Indian league," said Aussies spokesman Lachy Patterson.

The 27-year-old aussie all-rounder played a big role in Rajasthan Royals victory in inaugural 2008 title.
