Durban: A combination of good bowling and fielding helped Bangalore Royal Challengers to restrict Chennai Superkings to 129 all out at Durban on Thursday.
Electing to bat first, Chennai were off to shaky start with Jacques Kallis striking in his first over having Murali Vijay (5) caught at fine leg by Robin Uthappa in the fourth over of the match.
However Hayden started off in his usual aggressive style as he belted the Chennai bowlers all corners of the ground. After playing a spectacular knock of 60 runs off just 38 balls, Matthew Hayden departed to a fine catch by Vinay Kumar off the bowling of Kumble.
From then on it was a struggle as the RCB attack strangled the batsmen with wicket to wicket stuff. All the catches were taken as it was a comprehensive fielding performance from the Royal Challengers. Chennai were 72/2 at the strategy break and only 57 runs came for the loss of 8 wickets. The last six wickets fell for 28 runs.
