Sri Lanka wins toss, elect to bat

Trent Bridge: Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara had won the toss and elected to bat first against New Zealand in their crucial Super 8 tie.

Both the teams need to win in order to keep their World Cup dreams alive.

Sri Lanka brought in Udana in place of Kulasekara while their opponents, New Zealand, also made a change in their team-composition, bringing in Ross Taylor in place of James Franklin.

New Zealand (Playing XI): Brendon McCullum, Aaron Redmond, Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor, Scott Styris, Jacob Oram, Peter McGlashan(w), Nathan McCullum, Daniel Vettori(c), Kyle Mills, Ian Butler

Sri Lanka (Playing XI): Sanath Jayasuriya, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara(w/c), Mahela Jayawardene, Chamara Silva, Jehan Mubarak, Angelo Mathews, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Lasith Malinga, Isuru Udana
