New Delhi: The triangular ODI series involving Sri Lanka, India and New Zealand will be held in September, Sri Lanka Cricket has revealed.
The Sri Lankan cricket board had made the announcement on Friday that India had been invited to play a tri-series during the latter part of New Zealand's tour of Sri Lanka.
"The teams will play each other once, and the top two teams will meet in the final. Thus, a total of four matches will be played," BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said in a media release.
The match schedule will be finalised shortly, the release added.
India had accepted the offer keeping in view their lack of match practice before the Champions Trophy in October.
Currently in the West Indies, this is India's last assignment before a long lay-off.
