Pak post lowest test total of 90 all out

Galle: Pakistan were bowled out for 90 in 36 overs on the first day of the second test against Sri Lanka on Sunday.

It was Pakistan's lowest test total against Sri Lanka and their seventh lowest overall.

Scorecard: 2nd Test: SL Vs Pak

Paceman Kulasekara grabbed four for 21 and leg spinner Mendis three for 20 as Pakistan, who elected to bat, were bundled out after lunch. The innings lasted just 36 overs.

Sri Lanka reached to 49-1 at tea after dismissing Pakistan for a paltry 90 runs on the first day of the second Test, their worst Test innings score against the hosts.

The only Sri Lankan wicket to fall was Malinda Warnapura, trapped lbw by the seamer Umer Gul for 11 runs.

Toss smiles on Younis, elects to bat

The opener Tharanga Paranavitana was batting on 19 at the break with the captain Kumar Sangakkara on 12.

Earlier, the seam bowler Nuwan Kulasekera claimed four wickets as Pakistan was bundled out in the second session for their worst total against Sri Lanka, falling short of the 117 in the first Test at Galle last week.

The Pakistan batsmen struggled against the new ball on a seaming pitch after the captain Younus Khan won the toss and elected to bat first.

Kulasekera first dismissed Khurram Manzoor for three when the opener pushed at an inswinger and was caught by the wicketkeeper Tillakaratne Dilshan with the total on four.

Sri Lanka lead the series 1-0.
