Kolkata: Jagmohan Dalmiya will continue to be the boss of Bengal cricket as there was nobody, including former India captain Sourav Ganguly, to challenge the former BCCI president on the last day of filing CAB nominations here today.
Former Indian captain Ganguly apparently gave Dalmiya a walkover after failing to manage the required numbers.
There was no challenge for Dalmiya camp's two joint secretaries Arun Mitra and Biswarup Dey and treasurer Subir Ganguly either.
Dada is now a fellow
The only challenge came from Howrah district's Abhijit Dutta who filed his paper against the four sitting Vice Presidents -- Samar Kar, Shiv Kumar Kalyani, Arijit Datta and Timir Ghosh.
Thus the CAB annual general body meeting of July 31 will be a drab affair with Dalmiya retaining his grip over the association.
Asked for his reaction, Dalmiya said it was premature to comment.
"Its not yet official. Unless it is officially declared, I would not like to comment on it," Dalmiya said.
Even though Ganguly stayed away from this years election, he will be attending the AGM through Mohammedan Sporting and the Working Committee meeting through Bhukailash Sporting Club.
