Swann's ball at par with Vaughan's ball

Edgbaston: England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff equated Graeme Swann's scorching off-break that shattered Ricky Ponting"s stumps in third Test with Michael Vaughan's terrific delivery that dismissed Sachin Tendulkar in the 2002 Trent Bridge Test.

Swann produced his piece of magic in the last delivery of his third over.

After gradually dragging Ponting forward, Swann tossed up a delivery which drifted, spun sharply from the footmarks outside off-stump and darted through bat and pad to disturb middle and leg stumps.

''I think it"s on a par with Michael Vaughan [bowling Sachin Tendulkar] at Trent Bridge [in 2002],"" Andrew Flintoff said. ''There"s a bit for the off-spinner outside off-stump from Mitchell Johnson"s follow-through.

"It was a fine ball and if you are going to get the best players out in the world you have got to bowl good balls and that was one of the better ones." he added.

Vaughan bowled Indian maestro Sachin Tendulkar between bat and pad at Trent Bridge in 2002.
