New Delhi: India will miss the service of speed-star Zaheer Khan in the next month's triangular one-day series in Sri Lanka and the Champions Trophy in South Africa as he is resting after a shoulder surgery.
Zaheer underwent shoulder surgery in South Africa last month and could be out for up to five months. The news was kept in secret as he wanted avoid media during the crucial first phase of recovery.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Dr Ferguson in South Africa. Dr Ferguson had also treated many Indian cricketers including Tendulkar, Javagal Srinath and spinner Anil Kumble.
The pacer injured his left should while attempting to dive during IPL match in South Africa. Even though Zaheer was included in the India's T20 squad he missed the following four-match ODI series in the West Indies.
