Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar failed to attend the second leg of the fitness camp on Tuesday due to the prior engagements as eight players were put through their paces here.
"Sachin was not available on Tuesday," said Kirsten. "We only got the squad that was in the West Indies. Not everyone was available at such a short notice."
Eight players-Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Abhishek Nayar, S Bdarinath, Pragyan Ohja, Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja and Dinesh Karthik underwent rigorous test at the Mumbai Cricket Association's indoor academy at the Bandra-Kurla Complex.
The fitness test was conducted by the trainer Ramji Srinivasan and under the supervision of team coach Gary Kirten.
Former South African player said that some players had 'a fair amount of niggles after the West Indies tour' and that everyone was doing pretty well now. He also said that Virender Sehwag, rehabilitating for an operated right shoulder, would undergo a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore 'in a few days'.
