New Zealand bat first against India

Colombo: New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori won the toss and elected to bat against India in the second match of the Compaq Cup at Colombo on Friday.

Rahul Dravid is back in the Indian ODI side after a gap of two years.

The Indian team is already without the services of two of its star players, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, both of whom are injured.

A win against Kiwis today will put India in the finals of the tournament. Friday's game is a do or die match for the Kiwis and they have to win with a bonus point just to be on the safer side, in case if all the teams are tied on points at the end of the league phase.

The team batting first at Premadasa Stadium has won the last 11 games played here while India have not lost any of their last 11 games at this ground.

(Playing XI): Sachin Tendulkar, Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni(w/c), Yusuf Pathan, Rudra Pratap Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Ishant Sharma

New Zealand (Playing XI): Brendon McCullum(w), Jesse Ryder, Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor, Grant Elliott, Neil Broom, Jacob Oram, Daniel Vettori(c), Kyle Mills, Shane Bond, Ian Butler
