England crash to sixth straight defeat

Nottingham: Australia continued England"s ODI woes with a 111-run win in the match at Nottingham on Thursday.

England suffered thier sixth successive ODI defeat to Australia.


The home team need to win the final match of the series on Sunday to avoid humiliation of a series whitewash.

Paine, playing only his seventh one-day match, scored a brilliant century 111 (148) to take Australia to a 296 for eight after they won the toss and elected to bat.

In reply England got off to a horrible start as their inform Strauss was incorrectly given out in the very first over.

England were bundled out for just 185 all in 41 overs as their batsmen again under-achieved.

Tim Bresnan top-scored English innings with 31 not out while opener Joe Denly made 25.

"We were never in the chase and it is another very disappointing day for us, no doubt. It was a horror show with the bat" said England captain Struass.
