While the son curved his niche in the international cricket, the father found his calling in the world of politics. Is the Indian vice-captain soon to follow the footsteps of his father?
There are many who believe that Yuvraj has the spark to make it big in the big bad world of politics. Yet, it is his father Yograj Singh, who was the first in the family to join the political bandwagon.
Yograj Singh will contest as an Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate from the newly-carved Panchkula constituency in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections. Yograj Singh said that he believes in the ideology of Chaudhary Devi Lal and said that he would accept the decision of party high command.
While Yuvraj Singh would be battling out in South Africa during the Champions Trophy, his father will be busy with his poll campaigning. However, Yograj wants yuvraj to participate in his election campaign.
" I do not want Yuvraj to leave his cricket and come for campaigning but if he feels that his father is above all things then he would definitely come."
Will Yuvraj follow the footsteps of his father? Indian cricketers did not even bother to vote in the last lok sabha election as they were busy with the cash rich IPL. In the future Indian politics may find a leader in Yuvraj when he starts planning for his retirement days after saying good bye to international cricket.
Well, if Yuvraj enters politics, then what flag he would hold- tri colour, orange or red...oh! my imagination goes too far.
