India back to top of ODI ranking

Johannesburg: South Africa dropped to third spot in the ICC one-day rankings as they lost to Sri Lanka by 55 runs in the inaugural match of the Champions Trophy.

South Africa's loss turned out to be India's gain as 'Men in Blue' rose back to the number one spot in the ICC one-day rankings.

Aussies, who are now number 2, were unable to complete an unprecedented 7-0 clean sweep over England few days back as Ricky Pontings men went down by four wickets in the final ODI of the series in Durham.

As a result, Australia's brief return to the top of the ODI Championship table ended with the team falling to third again.

There could be more chopping and changing over the next couple of weeks as the top eight-ranked sides battle for the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa.
