Come September 30, Pakistan will take on Australia in a day match in Centurion where India's fate will be decided. On the same day India will take on West Indies at Johannesburg in a day night match, where they will be hoping that Pak will crush Aussies and while they themselves crush West Indies more heavily to enter the semi-finals of the coveted Champions Trophy.
For Australia, a win or a shared point against Pakistan will ensure them a place in semi-finals and will virtually push India out of the tournament. Pakistan have already booked a place in the semi-finals by winning both their matches.
Here are the Current run-rates of India and Australia in the Champions Trophy.
If Pakistan manage to beat Australia then both Indian and Australia will have 3 points each. In this case Australia's run-rate also will come down.
So India can take to the field on later on that day almost knowing the margins of victory they need to achieve against the West Indies.
Since West Indies came with a comparatively weak side, it won't be a huge task for India.
But, all these 'statics' depends on the Wednesday"s match between Pakistan and Australia.
On September 30, Team India's body will be in Johannesburg.. soul in Centurion....and mind on 'KIRSTEN-SUTRA'
