Australia beat Pakistan by 2 wickets in Centurion and ensured a place in the semi finals of Champions Trophy. Aussies win also sealed India's elimination from the competition as Mahendra Singh Dhoni's side required rivals Pakistan to beat Ricky Ponting's side
Pakistan set Australia 206-run target
Centurion Park: India"s hopes of making it to the semi-final of the Champions Trophy received a blow after Pakistan were restricted to a meager 205/6 off their 50 overs against Australia. Misbah-ul-Haq became the last wicket to fall after he was out hit wicket off a Watson delivery.
Pakistan openers got off to a solid start , but Johnson's stike off his very first ball sent back Afridi (15) just when he was looking dangerous.
Hopes and Watson maintained the pressure at both ends, picking up the prized scalps of Younis and Malik.From then on Pakistan were always playing catch up and never really got a move on. Misbah and Yousuf tried their best to steady the innings but were unable to provide the final push, for them to get to a good total. Mohammed Yousuf top scored Pakistan innings with 69 runs while Misbah scored 41 runs.
Earlier, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in their crucial match.
