Centurion: Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar sustained an injury on his cheek and almost broke his nose after collapsing in his hotel room on Tuesday, on the eve of India's last Champions Trophy match against the West Indies.
Tendulkar suffered from a stomach infection after India's match against Australia. When he returned to his hotel room, the seasoned batsman became giddy and collapsed on the floor, sustaining a cut to his left cheek and bruising his nose.
Even though no information was forthcoming on the incident from the team management, media reports quoted Tendulkar as saying that he ate something at the stadium in Centurion after India's washed-out match against Australia, and that probably led to the stomach infection.
Tendulkar was ruled out the match against the West Indies.
