New Delhi: The Victoria team from Australia thrashed the Delhi Daredevils by 7 wickets in their Group D Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament at Ferozshah ground here on Friday.
Victoria Bushrangers crushed Delhi Daredevils in a one-sided match at the Kotla Stadium in New Delhi.
After the completion of three matches in Champions League Twenty20, it has become evident that the foreign teams have an clear advantage over the Indian teams. Both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils have now lost their opening matches.
Earlier, Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first, but their batsmen failed miserably with the bat and could score just 98/8 in 20 overs. The wicket was not conducive for batting and both of today's matches were low-scoring ones.
For Delhi Daredevils, Mithun Manhas was the top scorer with 25, while Virender Sehwag made 21. For Victoria, Clint McKay took 3 wickets, while Shane Harwood and Andrew McDonald took 2 wickets each.
Chasing a victory target of 99, Victoria did not have any difficulty and reached 100/3 in 16.4 overs. Rob Quiney was the top scorer with 40, while Cameron White made 22.
Clint McKay was adjudged "Man of the Match".
