Bangalore: Jacques Kallis starred with bat and ball to steer Royal Challengers Bangalore to Super Eight stage of the Champions League as the Indian side thrashed Otago Volts by 80 runs.
Kallis made an unbeaten 73, while Ross Taylor hit three sixes in 32 not out from just 11 balls as RCB amassed 188-2. Uthappa also gave a good support to Kallis. He took 31 balls for his 42, which had five fours and two shots over the fence. 25 runs came off the final over bowled by Ian Butler and Warren McSkimming, the latter taking over after Butler pulled out after three deliveries with a knee injury.

Kallis then returned to claim 3-18, before pouching the catch at long-on that saw Otago all out for 108 in the 18th over.
Captain Anil Kumble (2/20) and R Vinay Kumar (2/20) took two wickets apiece as Bangalore put on a clinical performance.
The victory helped Bangalore team to a berth in the Super Eights League stage.
Craig Cumming was the highest run-getter for Otago Volts with his 20-run knock.
