Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ejaz Butt will meet Younis Khan on Thursday to resolve the captaincy issue.
According to sources Butt had asked Younis to meet him on Thursday in Lahore.
"Obviously if the meeting is held, its agenda will centre around the decision by Younis to resign as captain," one source said.
Butt wants to resolve the crisis as soon as possible since there was pressure building on the board from all quarters to convince Younis to withdraw his resignation.
"What is significant and will be interesting to see is how much leverage is Butt willing to give Younis and fulfill his demands, one of which is that he should be announced as captain until the next World Cup," the source said.
Younis is also expected to come clean with the Chairman on a number of issues, one of which is the role played by the team management to undermine his position publicly and to instigate some players to work against him.
