Bomb scare-Champions League match delayed

Bangalore: A bomb scare today forced the organisers to delay the two Champions League matches by an hour at M Chinnaswamy stadium here.

cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir staying at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore was arrested by the Bangalore police in connection with a suspected presence of explosives at the venue.

The first match, originally scheduled to start 1600 hrs IST, was to be played between Cape Cobras and Victorian Bushrangers.

The other match, originally scheduled to start at 2000 hrs IST, is between hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils.

Bangalore's police commissioner Shanker Bidari said they did not recover any explosives from the bag of the young cricketer and have taken him into preventive custody.

"When the police entered the room, the instruments pointed towards a bag but no explosives were found in it.
