Hyderabad: Diamond Eagles moved a step a close to the Champions League semi finals as they beat Somerset by four wickets in an eventful match at Hyderabad on Friday.
With this loss Somerset are now on the brink of elimination from the Champions League.
Bowling first Diamond Eagles restricted Somerset to 132 for 8 in the allotted quota of 20 overs.
Wes Durston was the star with the bat for Somerset scoring 57 off just 32 balls, while former Australia opener Justin Langer scored just 12 for the English side.
In reply, the Diamond Eagles did not face any hassled and achieved the victory with five wickets to spare in the 19th over. Morne van Wyk (47) and Ryan Bailey (29) were the notable run scores for Eagles .
Cornelius de Villiers was the star with the bowl for Eagles team as he grabbed four wickets by giving just 17 runs.
De Villiers was the voted the Man-of-the-Match in the game.
