Mumbai: Existing right holders Nimbus Communications has retained media rights for Indian cricket Board for another four years, starting April 2010, for Rs 2000 crore.
As per the deal, Nimbus will pay a uniform Rs 31.25 Rs crore per international match - ODI, T20 or Test, for television and radio broadcast rights.
They also agreed to pay Rs 2,000 core, and the whole amount in advance, to clinch the deal.
Nimbus are the current right holders for which they had paid the Board USD 612 million and the deal comes to a close next March.
The committee also decided to float fresh tenders for the team sponsorship rights that's ccurrently with Sahara, the sources added.
The decision to award Nimbus the media rights was taken at a marketing committee meeting of the BCCI on Tuesday.
