Cricketers pay tribute to Shepherd

New Delhi: Indian and Australian cricketers on Saturday paid tribute to late English umpire David Shepherd by observing two-minute silence before the start of the third one-dayer at Nagpur.

The cricketers and the Australian support staff lined up before the start of the match and observed silence in memory of the Englishman, who died of cancer on October 29.

Shepherd was one of the cricket world's best-known umpires. He stood in 92 Test matches and 172 ODIs, the last of them in June 2005, and officiated in three World Cup finals.
