Kanpur: Indian camp can breathe sigh of relief as their captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been cleared the fitness test and will take the field for the second Test starting tomorrow against Sri Lanka at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
Dhoni had hurt his finger during the first Test at Ahmedabad and BCCI had rushed in Tamil Nadu skipper Dinesh Karthick as a cover for the injured Dhoni.
Dinesh Karthik will now head back to Dharmsala to rejoin Tamil Nadu squad for their Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh in Dharamshala starting Tuesday.
Karthik last represented India in a Test against New Zealand in Napier in March this year.
According to sources, Off-spinner Pragyan Ohja could make his Test debut against Sri Lanka at Kanpur on Tuesday.
