Ranchi: In a move to counter Maoist threat in Jharkhand assembly election, Election commission has roped in Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni to appeal to the peole to come out in large numbers to cast votes.
Maoists had urged the people to boycott the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand.
The CD with Dhoni's appeal has already been released. It is now telecasted through the electronic news channels and other cable networks.
The CD comes with the punch line "My vote my future" in which Dhoni is seen appealing to the voters to be a captain of their own life.
ECI and district administration earlier expressed concern over the declining voter turnout in urban areas as observed during the recent Lok Sabha elections. In the recently concluded Loksabha elections only 55% voted in the Jharkhand.
