Sreesanth-led India on verge of victory

Kanpur: Sri Lanka were staring at an innings defeat after losing their four wickets in their second innings against India on Day 3 of the second Test.

Sri Lanka were 57 for four wickets in their second innings, trailing by 356 runs after following on, against India at the close on the third day of the second test on Thursday. There are still 2 days remaining in the game.

Comeback man Sreesanth not only justified selectors faith in him but also also destroyed Sri Lanka"s strong batting line up. He took six wickets on Thursday to first force Sri Lanka on back foot and then force it to follow on.

Forced to follow-on, Sreesanth again provided the breakthrough by dismissing the dangerous Tillakaratne Dilshan for 11.  Any Sri Lankan hopes of salvaging a draw were dashed after opener Tharanga Paranavitana (20), Mahela Jayawardene (10) and skipper Kumar Sangakkara (11) also fell cheaply.

Angelo Mathews (two not out) and Thilan Samaraweera (one not out) were at the crease when stumps were drawn.
