India bowled out Sri Lanka for 229 in the first innings and asked the visitors to follow-on in the second cricket Test at Kanpur here Thursday. The chief nemesis of Sri Lanka stood out to be the 5 wicket haul holder S Sreesanth as he sent tremor after tremor down the Lankan batting spine.
India 1st Innings: 642 (Gautam Gambhir 167, Rahul Dravid 144, Virender Sehwag 131; Rangana Herath 5-121, Ajantha Mendis 2-162). Sri Lanka 1st Innings: 229 (Mahela Jayawardene 47, Shanthakumara Sreesanth 5-75).

Kanpur: Spectacular performance by comeback man Sreesanth helped India to restrict Sri Lanka at 138/5 at lunch on third day of the second Test at Kanpur.
Sreesanth, playing his first Test for India after a gap of nearly 18 months, took three for 57 to reduce Sri Lanka to 138 for five in 49 overs, in reply to India's mammoth first innings score of 642. Sreesanth got rid of Paranavitana, Sangakkara and Samaraweera with some tight bowling.
Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh claimed the fourth wicket when he bowled Angelo Mathews for 13.
The visitors are still trailing behind 504 runs in the first innings.
However, Indians dropped two of catches of Mahela Jayawardene.
