Kanpur: The Indian team on Thursday observed two minute silence ahead of their third day's play of the second test as a tribute to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The team also paid homage to the brave hearts who died defending Mumbai when terror struck the city a year ago.
One year ago on November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists held Mumbai hostage for nearly 60 hours killing over 170 people and wounded more than 300, many of them foreigners.
India was playing an ODI series with England during the attacks that shook lives across the world. Team England cut short their tour and returned home after this incident.
Meanwhile, security in the Kanpur city had been strengthened following the concerns expressed by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
