Sri Lanka wins toss, elect to bat

Mumbai: Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara won the toss and elected to bat against India in the third and final Test at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

India have made one change to their winning team. Opening batsman Gautam Gambhir won"t be a part of the proceedings owing to his sister"s wedding and Tamil Nadu"s Murali Vijay would take his place.

Sri Lanka have meanwhile dropped Ajantha Mendis in favor of medium pacer Nuwan Kulasekara.

India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series following their victory in the second Test in Kanpur by an innings and 144 runs. The first Test in Ahmedabad ended in a high scoring draw.

This is the first Test match to be played Brabourne stadium, after a long wait of 36 years. The last Test match to be played at this venue was between India and England way back in February 1973.
