Nagpur: Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni brought up his 6th ODI ton as he led the Indian charge to help his team score a total of 301/7 against Sri Lanka in the second ODI at Nagpur. Dhoni's century was studded with eight boundaries and two big sixes.
Suresh Raina 68(55) and Virat Kohli 54(65) were the other top run scorers for India.
Electing to bat first, India were off to a disastrous start as they lost in-form Sehwag in the first over of the innings. Moments later, another heartbreak moment for the home team saw Gambhir run-out for 2.
Tendulkar and Kohli made useful contributions but fell at crucial junctures before Dhoni and Raina revived India with a 126-run stand.
Tendulkar made 43, having hit four boundaries in his 52-ball knock before he was stumped by Kumar Sangakkara as he stepped down the wicket and attempted a big shot against Ajantha Mendis .
Dhoni, who got three let-offs, paced his innings superbly to bring up his 6th hundred and was ably supported by Raina, ensuring India got past the 300-run mark.
