Ranchi: Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni collected the Padma Shri award, country's fourth highest civilian award from government officials, here on Tuesday.
Dhoni, who was to receive the award from the President Pratibha Patil, missed the opportunity due to some personal reasons.
Indian captain received the award from Shiv Basant, Chief Secretary of Jharkhandat a formal event at the state secretariat.
After presenting the award, Shiv Basant wished Dhoni all success.
"He has done India proud. All the best wishes to him" said Shiv Basant.

Dhoni had faced much criticism for missing the award ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
It was said that his absence had hurt the sentiments of cricket fans.
Dhoni is serving a two-match ban for taking 45 minutes extra in completing his team's quota of 50 overs in the Nagpur one-dayer against Sri Lanka.
