Kolkata: Upul Tharanga smashed a robust century to help Sri Lanka post a challenging 315 /6 in the fourth one-day international against India here on Thursday.
Tharanga hit 118 as Sri Lanka recovered from a shaky start to set a stiff target after electing to bat in the day-night match.
Tharanga cracked two sixes and fourteen fours in his 118-ball knock.
Lankan opener received valuable support from his captain Sangakkara (60), the duo giving a superb exhibition of hard and clean hitting during their 126-run stand for the third wicket.
Upul Tharanga was dismissed by Zaheer Khan as he tried to hit a ball out of the park.
Later, a brief cameo from Thissara Perera 31(14) helped Sri Lanka steer past the 300-mark. His innings was studded with four boundaries and one sixer.
