DDCA to pay back spectators money

New Delhi: Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) apologised to the spectators for abandoning the fifth ODI at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Sunday.

Poor pitch conditions at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium forced the match officials to abandon the final India-Sri Lanka ODI.

Right from the start, the pitch at the Feroz Shah Kotla offered extraordinary bounce and one such ball hit Tillakaratne Dilshan on his forearm, leaving him in pain and needing on-field treatment.

The entire crowd at Feroz Shah Kotla angrily protested after the cancellation of match.

The spectators started hurling water bottles and chair covers into the ground, while some raised banners reading "I want my money back".

The DDCA apologised for the incident and promised to return back the money of the audience. However, the information on how and when the money would be returned has still not been made clear.
