Dhaka: The start of the remaining matches in the Idea Cup has been advanced by half-an-hour because of the heavy dew that is causing a lot of problem in the evening.
Earlier, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangkkara had complained that toss had become the deciding factor with dew at night making it difficult for bowlers, especially the spinners, to grip the ball. Two captains suggested an early start from the scheduled time to minimise the dew factor for teams fielding second.
"In view of the dew at night we have reached an understanding with the broadcasters to start the match half an hour early from tomorrow. The teams have accepted the half an hour early start," media committee chairman Younus Jalal said Thursday.
The tournament opener between Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh saw heavy due at night but conditions had improved since then.
