New Delhi: Sachin Tendulkar being a loyal citizen of India, tops highest tax payer list of Indian sports persons in the country for the last quarter of 2009.
The 'Cricket's billionaire run-machine' has paid a whopping Rs 1.5 crore and stood at 115th position ahead of Indian cricket team captain M S Dhoni among the 500 top tax payers of the country.
Indian skipper Dhoni and dashing opener Virender Sehwag had paid Rs 1 crore each for the same period and stood at 199 and 201 positions respectively.
Sachin who performs consistency in batting average has also maintained a consistency here as he pays Rs 8 crore as tax money for the past three years.
Former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly, who paid Rs 90 lakhs to the IT department, was also included in the list. Harbhajan Singh (70 lakhs) was another cricketer who was figured in the list.

IPL chairman Lalit Modi has occupied the 47th position with a deposit of Rs 3 crore.
Akshay Kumar, who occupies 26th position in the list, narrowly pipped Aamir Khan to the title of Bollywood's highest taxpayer of 2009.
A notable absentee from the top 500 list is the Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan.
