Mirpur: Suresh Raina brought up his 3rd ODI ton as he helped India to post respectable total of 245 in the finals of Idea Cup at Mirpur on Wednesday.
At one stage India were 60/5, but Suresh Raina played a wonderful innings to guide India to a fighting total . His 3rd ODI century consisted of ten boundaries and a six.
He first rebuilt the innings which involved a partnership of 106 with Ravindra Jadeja (38).
After Jadeja's dismissal, Harbhajan Singh (11runs) and Zaheer Khan (16 runs) chipped in with cameos, allowing Raina to complete his century.
Put into bat first, India made the worst possible start as they lost Gautam Gambhir in the first over. In the next over Virat Kohli went after a widish delivery and was caught behind. Then an out-of-form Yuvraj Singh was caught at first slip chasing a rising ball to leave India 16-3 in four overs.
After 10 overs, the Indians were 58-4. The skipper was caught behind while going for the drive.
Kulasekera claimed four for 47 whereas Chanaka Welegedara took three for 5.
