Harris bowls Aussies to series win

Adelaide: Ryan Harris shines as a Australia celebrated the national day with a 40-run defeat of Pakistan at Adelaide Oval.

After Michael Clarke and Michael Hussey lit the tourists up for a late 80-run stand off 41 balls to set a target of 287, Ryan Harris claimed 5-43 in only his second international and Clint McKay helps to bowl Pakistan out for 246.

Australia has taken a 3-0 lead in the five-match one-day series with this win over Pakistan. Australia has already won test series against Pakistan.

Earlier, Australian captain Ricky Ponting had won the toss on a noticeably slow surface and had little hesitation in batting under sunny skies.

Pakistan left out Mohammad Aamer (stiff groin) and Shoaib Malik, replacing them with Asif and Fawad Alam.

Harris was adjudged as man of the match.

The fourth ODI will start in Perth on January 29.
