Aussies clinch series under controversy

Perth: Australian cricket team defeated Pakistan cricket team in 5th ODI in 5 one day matched series on Sunday.

Australia completed a 5-0 series whitewash after a two-wicket defeat of Pakistan at the WACA in a match marred by allegations of ball tampering.

Afridi faces a fine and/or suspension if found guilty of ball tampering.

Mohammad Yousuf was unfit and could not participate in the 5th ODI and Shahid Afridi held the responsibility of the captain in 5th ODI.

Australia vs Pakistan, 5th ODI - Scorecard

Pakistan set the target of 213 runs in 50 overs to win for Australia. Australia successfully achieved the target on the loss of 8 wickets in the last over of the match. Australia clean sweeped the 5 matches one day series. Rickey Ponting, Captain Australian cricket team scored 55 while Mike Hussey made 40 runs.

The third umpire reported the incident to the on-field officials who immediately ordered the ball be replaced with five overs to go and Australia needing a further 35 for victory.

Mohammad Yousuf, captain Pakistan cricket team commented after the end of the match that Australian cricket is more professional than Pakistan's cricket team. Australian cricket team has performed in a very better manner in the fields than Pakistan, he added.

Australian captain said that Pakistan has lost the one day series but we consider Pakistan cricket team as a good team of the one day matches, he added.

Earlier, Australia has also defeated Pakistan in Test series.
