Mumbai: Gary Kirsten to stay for long! Former Australian opener Gary Kirsten, presently the coach of Indian cricket team will sustain his post in India until the 2011 World Cup in the subcontinent.
Indicating the matter, BCCI President Shashank Manohar in his recent statement said, “He will continue his stint with the Indian team. We"ll renew his contract."
Earlier it was being speculated after ending his contract with BCCI in Match this year Gary would succeed Mickey Arthur, the former coach of South Africa in his role in his native country.
He however has denied the report saying that he had not even been contacted by the South African board of cricket.
