Kolkata: Indian middle ordered batsman VVS Laxman has been declared fit and will rejoin the team for the second test match against South Africa in Kolkata.
“Laxman is fit and will definitely be playing," chairman of selectors Krish Srikkanth said. VVS Laxman has been included in the India squad for the final Test against South Africa in Kolkata on Sunday.
Wriddhiman Saha is the unfortunate player to have been dropped by chairman of selectors Krishnamachari Srikkanth, with Dinesh Karthik making up the 15-man squad.
Laxman's return should bolster India's inexperienced middle-order which has been without injured duo Rahul Dravid (jaw) and Yuvraj Singh (wrist), both ruled out of the two-test series.
The second test match is going be played at the Eden Gardens in Koltata from 14th of this month.
