Laxman and Dhoni put India on top

Kolkata: VVS Laxman and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni took India on driving seat on the third Day of last Test match against South Africa at Eden Gardens here today.

At stumps on day 3 South Africa 296 & 6/0. India 643/6d. South Africa trail by 341 runs with 10 wickets remaining.

India declared their innings after a huge score of 643/6, leading by 347 runs. Sehwag, Tendulkar, Laxman and Dhoni all scored centuries for India.

In reply to South Africa's 296 all out, India declared their first innings at 643 for six during the post-tea session on the third day of the second and final cricket Test against South Africa at Eden Gardens here on Tuesday.

VVS Laxman smashed his 15th Test century remained unbeaten on 143 while skipper Dhoni was batting on 132 when the declaration came in.
