India lose a point but in No.1 Test spot

Kolkata: India levelled the series with 1-1 as India won by an innings and 57 runs in the second Test and retains the No.1 Test spot in the ICC Test rankings.

India retained their number one Test ranking after off-spinner Harbhajan Singh took five wickets to force a series-levelling victory over South Africa in the second and final Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Indians, who lost the first Test in Nagpur by an innings and six runs, retained their No1 ranking with 124 rating points(Earlier it was 125 Points)

It is the first time India has topped the log at the annual cut-off date since the rankings were introduced in June 2003. In 2008, it finished second and it was placed third in 2005 and 2006, fourth in 2007 and sixth in 2004.
