Kiwis spinners humble Bangladesh

Hamilton: A superb knock form the spinners help New Zealand to seal a victory by 121 runs in the only Test against Bangladesh on Friday.

Kiwis skipper Daniel Vettori was supported well by his spinning parter Jeetan Patel as tourists were dismissed for 282 in their second innings.

The spin pair bowled consecutive wicket-maidens shortly before the close of play, taking the game well and truly away from Bangladesh.

Earlier, New Zealand had set themselves up for victory when centuries to Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum saw them score 7(dec)-553 in the first innings.

Bangladesh has only twice scored more than 300 in the fourth innings of a Test, and lost on both occasions.

Bangladesh's highest winning fourth innings run chase was the 5 for 285 it mounted against Zimbabwe at Dhaka in 2005, the first of its three Test wins.
