Mohali: Kevin Pietersen scored a magnificient half-century to help the Bangalore Royal Challengers snatch a six-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab in the 31st Match of IPL 3rd edition here on Friday in Mohali.

The Bangalore side battled to a six-wicket win with five balls remaining, scoring 184 runs to chase down The Kings total of 181.

Kevin Pietersen (66 not out off 44 balls) and Virat Kohli (42 off 26) steered the home side to the win with five balls to spare.

Robin Uthappa, the other contributor of 22 runs which came in just 8 balls.

Pietersen went on to finish the job with a boundary off Irfan Pathan in the final over.

Brett Lee has cost The Kings XI Punjab victory giving 25 runs in the 17th Over against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League action in Mohali.

Earlier, Kumar Sangakkara (45 off 27), Ravi Bopara (42 off 33) and Yuvraj Singh 36 (20) helped them to a respectable total
of 181 which goes in vain.
