Sreesanth disrespects Umpire, fined

Jaipur: Sreesanth has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee (USD 9,000) for clapping at the umpire when he was no-balled twice during his side's IPL match against Rajasthan Royals.

The incident took place after the Kings XI pacer was hit for a boundary off a free-hit, after being adjudged for two successive no balls. After the match, match referee S Venkataraghavan fined Sreesanth 20 per cent of his match fee.

Sreesanth, who is part of the Punjab team, was involved in the incident during the third over of Rajasthan's innings, which he was bowling.

Sreesanth pleaded guilty to the Level 1 offence (Article 2.1.3), which relates to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision."
