High security for IPL Semis

Mumbai: Security has been beefed up at the DY Patil Stadium for the IPL first semi-final match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore set to take place on Wednesday.

Authorities have taken up several safety measures to avert any untoward incident especially after the Saturday, Apr 17 blasts in Bangalore. The semi-finals were, in fact, shifted out of Bangalore to Mumbai following the bomb scare.

The spectators have been asked not to carry mobile phones, bottles, carry bags and hand bags. Parking arrangements have been made several meters away from the stadium.

The expected 60,000 spectators will be subjected to three-point security checks.
