Mumbai, May 14: The Board of Control of Cricket(BCCI) after much debate that Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is going to be replaced as the skipper of the Indian team has come out in support for him and said he might be asked to step down as India's T20 captain.
"Obviously we are not happy with the performance of the team, but it does not mean that we are thinking of removing Dhoni as Twenty20 captain," said a BCCI source.
Earlier, after team India's impoverished show in the T20 world cup 2010, there were reports that the BCCI will drop the Ranchi lad and Virender Sehwag would be taking over the captaincy.

Sehwag was a strong contender to take over captaincy as he has a good rapport with other senior players like Gautam Gambhir, Ashish Nehra and Suresh Raina which would mean it would be easier for him to replace Dhoni and take charge of the team.
Former players had highly criticized about the team's lack of commitment after their early exit from the world cup.
However, Sachin Tendulkar came in support for the team.
